Current Obsession

PERFUMES!!!
I love clean, crisp, flowery scents.  I don't like musky or old ladyish smells.  I've been stalking MUA to build my perfume collection.  I rarely wear perfume because I'm afraid that it will be too much for school.  But I just like to admire my collection and smell my scents when I'm bored.  (yes..I'm weird like that)

Here are some of my favorites:
Cashmere Mist (my sister has this and I like the smell)
Bath and Body Works Winter Candy Apple
Banana Republic Alabaster
H&M White Flower
Bath and Body Works Enchanted Orchid

I want to try these:
Yves Rocher Naturelle
Yves Rocher Iris Noir
Yves Rocher Tendre Jasmin

Comfort Zone swatches

Woohoo!!! I finally got the Comfort Zone palette from WetnWild.  Each week i would stalk my local Walgreens and I always come back home emptyhanded.  But today my bf decided to go to Walgreens to get some stuff so I tagged along.  And thank god I did.  The palette was the only 8 pan palette there.

1. Champagne colored.  This color matches my skin tone more so it looks natural as a highlight on the brow bone or inner corners of your eyes.
2. Nice taupe color.  Very nice color for simple makeup
3. Chocolate brown.  Simple and wearable.
4. Dark brown with flecks of copper.  This is very pigmented so a little goes a looong way.
5. Grayish champagne color.
6. Olive green.  I don't wear greens that much but I find this green to be wearable on my skin tone.  It has a nice yellowish sheen to it.
7. Medium gray with flecks of yellow.
8. Duochromed brown.  In certain lighting, it has a teal sheen to it.  Very lovely.

All of the shades are shimmery and lovely.  I find that the shimmers make the colors to have another dimension to it and make it more interesting.  I hope that WetnWild will release other palettes with  matte colors.
I guess I was so excited to try out this palette that I accidentally hit it with my elbow and it dropped to the floor.  Stupid elbow! Stupid floor!  Only number 4 was cracked a little bit but that color is so pigmented that the tissue that I using with was quickly covered with pigment.

My ELF products

I love ELF!  Especially the Studio and Mineral lines.  It's affordable and though shipping is a killer, there are plenty of coupon codes online.  And some ELF products are available in Target and dollar stores.  But like all makeup brands, there hits and misses.

I'm recently in a blush phase.  The blushes are so nice.  For a natural looks, I tend to reach for Coral as it shows up as a peachy color on my skin that is not overdone.  But I can still build it up.  My least favorite would be Peachy Keen as it doesn't show up that well on my skin.  My favorite would be Candid Coral.  It's more of a pink one than a peachy tone.  It gives me a natural glow and makes me look alert.
Top (L-R): Studio Blushes in Mellow Mauve, Berry Merry, Peachy Keen, Candid Coral.
Bottom: Mineral Blush in Coral

Bottom: Mineral Blush in Coral
Next up are my face products.  I love the tinted moisturizers.  They have light coverage.  For days when I like lighter coverage, I use it by itself.  Other times, I will use it as a base and use concealer and powder. The Mineral Face Primer makes my skin feel so soft and smooth.  But a little goes a long way.  Once, I accidentally used a bit too much and it made my face into a greaseball.  The shimmering facial whip is nice too.  I like how it is multi-functional and it makes a nice highlighter.  But the formula separates.  When you squeeze it, a clear liquid sprays out first.  And I don't like the smell.
(L to R): Shimmering Facial Whip in Citrus, Tinted Moisturizer in SPF 15 in Rosey Beige, Tinted Moisturizer in SPF 15 in Light Beige, Tone Correcting Concealer in Rosey Beige, Mineral face Primer
Swatches in correct order as above.
I encountered a few misses in the eye products.  The regular line is like a wild card.  If you're lucky, the product may work for you.
Top (L to R): Duo Eye Shadow Creams in Sugar Cookie and Eggplant
Bottom (Lto R): Mineral Eye Primer, Brightening Eye Color in Silver Lining, Mineral Eye Shadows in Socialite and Royal
Swatches: Mineral Eye Primer, Duo Eye Shadow Creams in Sugar Cookie and Eggplant, Brightening Eye Color in Silver Lining, Mineral Eye Shadows in Socialite and Royal
As you can see in the swatches, the colors in the shadow creams are so similar.  The yellow in Sugar Cookie ha some glitter.  These are okay as shadow bases.  I don't wear these alone.  Next up is Silver Lining.  Three of four of the colors have good pigmentation (especially that grayish blue!).  The color that caught my eye on the website was the pinkish purple and that was a disappointment.  I love the mineral eyeshadows.  You don't need a lot for it to show up.  The color is not matte, it has a bit of shimmer which I like.  The mineral eye primer is NICE!  To me, it looked like a concealer but it blends into a clear film.  It does what it suppose to do.

The lip products are like the eye products, also wild cards.
(L to R): Candy Shop Lip Gloss in Melon Mayhem, Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF 15 in Watermelon, Mineral Lip Stick in Nicely Nude
Swatches are in the same order as above.
The candy shop gloss is ehh for me.  I don't like actually glitters in my lip products.  It makes the texture kind of gritty.  And I like some color in my lip glosses.  I can't complain though as I got this as a free gift from ELF.  Next is the lip shine in Watermelon.  I love the pigmentation.  It goes sheer with a good amount of pigmentation on my lips.  The only thing I dont' like is the smell.  It smells cheap (I know it is cheap, but cheap as in a plastic way).  I LOVE the mineral lip stick.  It is a beautiful shade of pink.  It goes on smooth and doesn't dry my lips.  And it doesn't accentuate any dry skin.

Palettes
(L to R): Corrective Concealer, Golden Bronzer in Golden, Complexion Perfection
I like (not love) the palettes.  The Complexion Perfection seals in my foundation and minimizes shine.  The concealer is nice too, but I found better.  The bronzer is awesome!  I don't really wear bronzers but this gives me a healthy glow.

Studio 27 piece mini makeup collection
I love this palette.  It's portable and has lots of different eyeshadow and lip shades in one box. I got this for free a while ago when they had a promotion.  The only thing I don't like is the eyeliner.  It tugs on my eyelid.  The brushes are flimsy and I threw them away.

Eyeshadow swatches

Top row are the blush and the bonzer.
Bottom row is the eyebrow powder.
I LOVE the blush.  It is so pigmented.  It reminds me of the Nars Orgasm blush.  I don't have that so I can't compare them together but I swatched it in Sephora.  This blush is pink with gold shimmers.  So pretty!!!

Lip swatches.
I LOVE these too. I love all of the shades.  They are so creamy and pigmented.

Happy Chinese New Year FOTD+Tutorial

2. Use the yellow color in the Giovi palette on 3/4 of the lid.
 Publish Post
3. Use the pink color in the Giovi palette on the rest of the lid.  Blend! Blend! Blend!

4. Use the WetnWild eyeshadow single Nutty on the crease.  Blend! Blend! Blend!
5. Use the Rimmel eyeliner to line the top and bottom lid.
6. Use the L'Oreal eyeliner on the outer parts of the upper and lower eyelids

7. Use the color in the WetnWild Lust palette on the brow bone.  Blend it into the eyeshadows.
8. Curl eyelashes and use your favorite mascara.

Ta Da!
I used NYC blushable creme stick on my cheeks and the Maybelline lip stain on the lips.  You can use a darker lip color to make the look more dramatic.  I did this in the day and my relatives are over, so I opted for a more natural look.
